Summary:
Woman sued the Toyota company because she taught they were stalking her. The actual truth is that the company was trying to do terror marketing on her. People who work in companies do anything to promote their company products. That type of promotion is called terror marketing. They think if they scare the customers they would latter laugh and buy the products. Now terror marketing has gone too far.For example boost mobile airs ads that have pigs eating pigs. This type of promotion is very noneffective. Just scaring people won't make them by your product.
Connections:
I recently saw the first MacDonald ad on YouTube. The ad featured this very weird guy having ketchup on his face and running around. Then at the end he eats the food. That was very scary maybe back at those days the ad wasn't scary but if they have an ad like that aired on T.V. that would freak the present people out. I also saw another ad but this one was a PSA made way back in the 90's. The PSA was called "Don't put it in your mouth." The ad featured some weird stuffed animals talking about things to not put things in your mouth. At the end lots of other typed animals sing a song about don't put anything in your mouth. it was back in those days that they had very weird ads that scare people.
Reflection:
I just heard about this way of promoting your product. I had saw many ads like this but I didn't know it was called "Terror marketing". I don't think terror marketing is very effective. Why would you have to scare the consumer or customer to buy your product? Why can't you do an effective way to promote your product like using an actress or any celeb to use the product and when people see it they will buy it. For example if a person who comes to me and scare me and then say buy my product I won't even think of buying it due to their very rude behavior. Besides maybe i will buy that product ever in my life.
